Big thanks to Josh Murrary for upping these to Youtube. We booked Charlie Chuck (Dave) to do a short gig on the uk-mkivs.net club at this years GTI International show. The show, held at Bruntingthorpe in near Northampton, is one of the biggest VW shows in the UK and is held annually each year. Given this was the shows 20th Anniversary we really wanted to make an impact and what better way to do it than putting on the genius that is Charlie Chuck.

Although the set is only short (around 20 mins long) and camera work is shoddy (yes it was me holding the camera!), it's still a funny gig and includes some of the best Charlie Chuck'isms out there.

These should add very nicely to collection already on Youtube and provide Charlie Chuck fans with a newer look at his act. The videos are split into three parts due to Youtube's 10 minute cap.

Enjoy!

Part 1 - Introduction (excuse the botch up with the music... doh!)

Part 2

Part 3

I have two other versions of the video to upload that were taken from a different viewpoint - both of which show the performance full frame. I will update as and when these have been uploaded.

I must say it was a pleasure to meet Dave and get to see him at an open air event. We had some problems on the day with  location and sound checks but I think we managed to pull it off nicely in the end! We may book him again for next year but  I think an enclosed area, such a marquee or covered section, would be better suited to his performance style. I do have an idea brewing about putting an event on in Liverpool for a few acts and maybe a band - as I'd love to see the whole act with Edie Wakefield and Mike Judd (something I've been told about but never seen).

Getting the chance to speak to Dave after the gig was also a welcome suprise. He stuck around for a while after and signed autographs and posed for photos (see above). The guy is really down to earth, really easy to get on with and it sounds like he's making somewhat of a TV comeback with performances at the Montreal Comedy Festival and a slot on an upcoming ITV comedy show (to be aired in January 2008).

I look forward to seeing more of him on TV in the near future.
