I'm a bit late on the gravy train but Microsoft have recently released Windows Live OneCare. Billed as an all in one protection system for your (Windows) PC, it seems to offer some of the features found across more than one product. Regular virus definition updates incorporating antispyware and backup solutions do seem like a welcomed breath of fresh air. But, as with most all-in-one software solutions these days, it does come at a price.

It's a move up from Windows Defender (still shown as Beta) but you do have to ask yourself, does Microsoft's paid service really hack it when other products may perform better and be more usabel (McAfee et al).

I'm a die hard McAfee Viruscan fan so I'll be installing Windows Live OneCare on a test system to compare.
