Farewell to my 25th Anniversary GTI
Over the last few months the whole 'Keeping a car in the garage' thing has been eating away at me. More than likely this is down to the Show Season now being over, and I'm so anal about keeping the car clean I refused to drive it around day-to-day. Taking the decision to sell up was the next logical step. So, by this time tomorrow my 25th Anniversary will be sold. She's been a great car, but in a way...
The uk-mkivs 2007 calendar!
I've just finished this years uk-mkivs calendar. Designed as a 14 page A3 glossy calendar it proved to be a great seller last year with all 100 copies being sold pretty rapidly. For this year I've gone along with the same design as last year, with the only changes being a matched red header cell colour for weekdays and the removal of a quote entry from the main title section. I'm really happy with...
Smoke and Fire Detectors
I recently received some free Smoke Detectors from a relative who works for Merseyside Fire Service . The units, known as Ionisation type, come fitted with batteries (rated at two years use) and include fixing brackets for easy mounting on to ceiling surfaces. This type of smoke detector is useful for flaming fires which produce small particles, but they aren't as sensitive when it comes to smoking...
Autotrader, Pistonheads and Ebay - Tips for successfully selling your car
Recently I decided it was time to sell my weekend car. Bought as an investment in July 2005, the Volkswagen Golf 25th Anniversary GTI proved to be one of the best cars I've owned ( and my third Golf so far). Due to the limited production run and seeming rarity of Tornado Red models, I was expecting the car to be sold within a matter of weeks. Instead, it turned out to be a bit of a slog, taking well...
Add Windows Live Search Box to your site
Well, it looks like those clever bods at Microsoft are at it again. They are offering site owners a new service which allows then to place a Windows Live Search Box on their respective sites. This product probably rivals Google Search for publishers, and even includes sponsored links for prospective searchers to click. However they haven't given any hints as to whether CTR's will be rewarded. Using...
TimeBiller for Windows Mobile 5
I'm currently working on a few website projects and find time tracking and subsequent billing quite hard to keep track of. I remember from working in a solicitors a few years back, how the people there used time sheets and computer based billing applications to track time worked on client cases etc. So I figured someone MUST have written one for a mobile device. Quick Google and a trip to the loo ...
Windows Live OneCare - Alternative to other well known security solutions?
I'm a bit late on the gravy train but Microsoft have recently released Windows Live OneCare . Billed as an all in one protection system for your (Windows) PC, it seems to offer some of the features found across more than one product. Regular virus definition updates incorporating antispyware and backup solutions do seem like a welcomed breath of fresh air. But, as with most all-in-one software solutions...
